This 12 day Tanzania Migration Safari takes you through the country’s most remarkable ecosystems and wildlife territories. Begin your adventure in Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobabs and large elephant herds, where you’ll enjoy game drives across varied landscapes teeming with lions, leopards, giraffes, and plains game. Continue to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, home to rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Descend into the crater floor for spectacular game viewing and admire its mix of grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes frequented by flamingos. Next, journey into the heart of the Serengeti National Park, beginning in the central Seronera region, renowned for its abundance of predators and diverse wildlife supported by the Seronera River. Spend several days exploring this vast wilderness before continuing north to the Kogatende region, where the Mara River sets the stage for the dramatic river crossings of the Great Migration. Witness wildebeest and zebras navigate the rushing waters, trailed by crocodiles and predators along the banks. Each day offers unforgettable safari moments, from sunrise game drives to scenic bush meals and Maasai cultural experiences. End your safari with a flight back to Arusha, filled with memories of Tanzania’s breathtaking landscapes and rich wildlife heritage.
Day 1 – Arusha to Tarangire
On the first day of your Tanzania Migration Safari, you will be picked up from the Airport and depart for Tarangire National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, check in and enjoy an afternoon gamedrive. Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third largest National Park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra.

Day 2 to 4: Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater formed about 2 million years ago when the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, leading to the collapse of its walls. This created a natural enclosure with towering walls, now standing 600 meters tall. Today, the Ngorongoro Crater spans over 19 kilometers in width and features diverse landscapes, including expansive acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands – all these various habitats are home to a rich array of wildlife
On this day we will explore the area in depth and experience all the game that Ngorongoro has to offer.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, we will head out towards the Serengeti National Park. This road trip takes through variety of sites: towns and villages, savannah and forest, and we will be able to spot animals like antelope, wildebeest and zebra. We enter Serengeti in the afternoon and drive towards Central Serengeti. Enjoy an afternoon game drive as we familiarize with the park and possible chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the game drive.

Day 6 & Day 7 – Central Serengeti
On day 6 and 7, will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central Serengeti region, also known as Seronera is known for its predators, especially the big cats. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. The area offers good access to all the Wildebeest Migration hotspots and supports a high density of plains game, leopards, cheetah and lion. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game viewing experience. Along with a picnic lunch during the full day game drives.

Day 8 – Central Serengeti to North Serengeti
After breakfast and check out, our drive to the Northern part of Serengeti will commence. The enroute game drive towards the Kogatende region will offer mild action from resident games. As we approach the northern part of the Serengeti, you will notice the terrain change from the usual plain grassland to a more hilly and broken terrain. The northern region offers a variety of resident game such as zebras, topi, gazelle, buffaloes, leopards and lions.A picnic lunch will be done during the day long drive.

Day 9, 10 and 11 – Northern Serengeti
We will spend the next 3 days exploring the Northern part of Serengeti. The Mara River in this region offers the most dramatic river crossing of the great migration. Watching the wildebeest surging through the torrential flow, some drowning and a few falling prey to lurking crocodiles is an unforgettable sight.
Being the migration season, you will enjoy all the action firsthand. During the dry season the permanent water sources in the valley attract plenty of resident and migratory animals, resulting in excellent game viewing. During the full day game drives, you will have your lunch in a picnic spot inside the park.
Given that Serengeti is densely populated with wildlife, you will extensively explore the park to experience all the possible game that it has to offer.
Serengeti offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it will be easy to spot them. We will be on the lookout for the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos.

Day 12 – Northern Serengeti to Arusha
This day will be our last safari day. We will have our early morning breakfast at the camp, check out and get transferred to the airstrip for Arusha.
You will check into your Arusha hotel for rest and refreshment before your airport transfers for your flight back home.
