Porini Cheetah Camp

Porini Cheetah Camp is an exclusive, eco-conscious safari camp tucked away in the private Ol Kinyei Conservancy, part of the larger Maasai Mara ecosystem. Designed for travelers who value authenticity and privacy, the camp offers an intimate experience with just six spacious tents set in a pristine wilderness area. Each tent is comfortably appointed with an en-suite bathroom, hot bucket showers, flush toilets, and private verandas, providing a seamless blend of traditional safari charm and modern comfort. The camp is unfenced, allowing wildlife to roam freely around, creating a truly immersive atmosphere where guests can fully connect with nature.

The camp operates entirely on solar power, staying true to its commitment to sustainability and minimal environmental impact. Meals are freshly prepared daily and enjoyed in a communal dining area or under the stars, with a variety of local and international dishes served. The attentive Maasai staff and guides are dedicated to offering outstanding hospitality, making each guest feel at home while delivering exceptional wildlife experiences.

Porini Cheetah Camp stands out for its location in an exclusive conservancy known for outstanding big cat sightings, especially cheetahs. With limited vehicles allowed on the land, guests are ensured unobstructed wildlife encounters and the freedom to explore vast landscapes in a serene and uncrowded setting. Personalized service, expert guiding, and the chance to witness some of Africa’s finest game viewing make this camp a true hidden gem.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Porini Cheetah Camp is during the dry seasons, which occur from January to March and from July to October. These months offer excellent visibility for wildlife viewing, as animals gather around water sources and vegetation is less dense. The July to October period also coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration, when large herds cross into the Maasai Mara, attracting predators and providing dramatic wildlife spectacles.

How to Get There

Porini Cheetah Camp is accessible via a short scheduled flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Siana or Olare Orok airstrips, followed by a 45 minute game drive transfer to the camp. Alternatively, guests can choose a road transfer, with a drive from Nairobi taking approximately 5 to 6 hours, offering a chance to enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley en route.
