All About Ol Kinyei Conservancy

Ol Kinyei Conservancy is a beautiful and unspoiled part of Kenya’s Maasai Mara ecosystem, covering around 18,700 acres. It was one of the first conservancies established in partnership between the Maasai landowners and responsible tourism operators. Ol Kinyei is exclusively reserved for small, low-impact safari camps and limited numbers of guests, ensuring an intimate and non-crowded wildlife experience.

The conservancy is a prime habitat for wildlife, hosting resident prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and herds of wildebeest and zebras. During the Great Migration season, thousands of wildebeests and zebras spill over into the conservancy from the larger Mara ecosystem. The landscape is characterized by wide open plains, rolling hills, seasonal streams, and scattered acacia trees, all perfect for spotting wildlife and enjoying classic East African vistas. With off road driving and guided walking safaris allowed, Ol Kinyei offers safari enthusiasts an exceptional, up close wildlife adventure.
