Mwiba Lodge

Mwiba Lodge is an ultra luxury safari retreat located in the 129,530 acre Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, bordering the southern Serengeti in Tanzania. Perched atop ancient granite boulders overlooking the Arugusinyai River, the lodge offers panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness. The reserve is a haven for diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and various antelope species, drawn to the area’s numerous freshwater springs.

The lodge comprises ten spacious suites, each thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment. Guests can enjoy private decks, large soaking tubs, outdoor rain showers, and elegant interiors adorned with local art and textiles. The main lodge features open air lounges, a curated wine cellar, a spa, and a gym, providing a perfect balance of comfort and immersion in nature.

Mwiba Lodge offers a highly personalized safari experience, with activities tailored to individual preferences. Guests can embark on day and night game drives, guided walking safaris, cultural visits to local tribes, and even scenic helicopter flights. The lodge’s commitment to conservation and community engagement ensures a meaningful and responsible travel experience.

Best Time to Visit

The optimal time to visit Mwiba Lodge is during the dry season, from June to October, when wildlife congregates around water sources, making for excellent game viewing. However, the green season, from November to March, offers lush landscapes and vibrant birdlife, providing a different but equally rewarding experience. The lodge is typically closed in April and May during the long rains.

How to Get There

By Air

Guests can fly into Mwiba Airstrip via scheduled or private charter flights from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport. The lodge is approximately a 15 minute drive from the airstrip.

By Road

While less common due to the remote location, overland transfers can be arranged from Arusha or other parts of northern Tanzania, offering scenic drives through the countryside.
