Nestled within the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Sarova Mara Game Camp offers a luxurious safari experience while staying true to its wild African surroundings. The camp is set on an expansive landscape dotted with acacia trees and rich savannah plains, offering front row views of the Great Migration and a wide array of resident wildlife year round. With a balance of comfort and authenticity, it provides the perfect retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in Kenya’s premier wildlife destination without sacrificing modern conveniences.

The camp maintains a strong eco-conscious ethos, including solar power usage and sustainable gardening, making it a top choice for environmentally aware travelers.

Dining is a central part of the Sarova experience, with chefs serving up freshly sourced, organic meals inspired by both local and international flavors. Guests can dine in the Isokon Restaurant or opt for unique bush dinners under the stars. Between game drives, you can unwind at the pool, indulge in spa treatments, or explore Maasai culture through curated village visits. Sarova Mara Game Camp’s combination of wildlife access, high end hospitality, and cultural enrichment ensures an unforgettable safari stay.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Sarova Mara Game Camp largely depends on what you hope to experience. From July to October, the Maasai Mara plays host to the spectacular Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebra cross from the Serengeti into the Mara. This period is considered peak safari season and offers incredible wildlife viewing and predator activity.

The short rainy season (November to December) brings lush landscapes and fewer crowds, making it a great time for photographers and those seeking a quieter escape. The long rainy season (April to May) is the greenest time of year, with dramatic skies and thriving vegetation, although some roads can become muddy.

How to Get There

By Air

The quickest and most convenient way is to take a one-hour flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to one of the nearby Mara airstrips, such as Keekorok or Ol Kiombo. From there, it’s a short game drive (typically 30 to 45 minutes) through the reserve to Sarova Mara Game Camp.

By Road

For those who enjoy scenic drives and a bit of adventure, the camp is accessible by a 5 to 6-hour drive from Nairobi. The journey covers approximately 260 kilometers and winds through beautiful rural Kenya, small towns, and eventually the wildlife rich landscape of the Mara.
