Offbeat Mara Camp is a classic, intimate safari camp nestled within the Mara North Conservancy, one of the most exclusive and wildlife rich areas of the Masai Mara ecosystem. This traditional camp is unfenced and blends seamlessly into its surroundings, offering an authentic, off the beaten track safari experience. Guests enjoy a true immersion into the wilderness with exceptional game viewing right from camp and during expertly guided safaris.
The camp maintains an understated elegance, with a focus on delivering a personal, warm atmosphere. It captures the spirit of the old world safari, emphasizing low impact tourism and deep respect for the land and wildlife. Wildlife sightings are abundant year round, and because it’s in a private conservancy, guests benefit from activities like night drives and walking safaris, not permitted in the National Reserve.
Offbeat Mara is particularly popular with photographers, families, and those seeking a more private, flexible safari. The camp works closely with local Maasai communities, offering cultural visits that feel meaningful and authentic rather than touristy.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Offbeat Mara Camp is during the dry season from July to October when the Great Migration herds often move through the Mara North Conservancy. This is the peak wildlife viewing period. However, the camp is open year round, and the months of December to March are also excellent for predator sightings and a quieter, more personal safari experience, as the landscape turns lush after the short rains.
