Ndutu Safari Lodge is a historic and well established lodge situated on the edge of the Southern Serengeti plains, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Overlooking Lake Ndutu and nestled under a canopy of acacia trees, the lodge offers a serene and authentic safari experience. Originally established in 1967 by George Dove, it has retained its charm and commitment to providing guests with a comfortable base for wildlife exploration.
The lodge comprises 34 stone and thatch cottages, each designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment. These cottages are naturally cool due to their thick walls and provide simple yet comfortable accommodations. Each room features an en-suite bathroom with hot showers, a sink, and a flushing toilet. Private verandas offer guests the opportunity to relax and take in the views of the surrounding bush and Lake Ndutu.
The central dining, seating, and bar area serves as a communal space where guests can enjoy meals, share stories, and unwind after a day of safari adventures. The lodge’s atmosphere is warm and welcoming, reflecting its long standing tradition of hospitality.
