Nestled along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the heart of Samburu National Reserve, Elephant Bedroom Camp offers an authentic yet luxurious safari experience. This intimate tented camp is renowned for its stunning location, frequent elephant visits, and spectacular wildlife encounters. The lush riverine forest surrounding the camp provides a striking contrast to Samburu’s semi-arid landscape, offering a unique setting where nature meets comfort.
One of the most thrilling aspects of Elephant Bedroom Camp is its close proximity to wildlife. Elephants often wander through the camp, giving guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close. The camp’s prime location also offers excellent access to Samburu’s famous wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five (the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk) as well as big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
Despite its remote setting, Elephant Bedroom Camp provides a perfect balance between rustic wilderness and high-end comfort. Each luxury tent is designed with a blend of African-inspired décor and modern amenities, featuring plush furnishings, open-air showers, and private plunge pools overlooking the river. Whether you’re relaxing on your deck, watching elephants pass by, or heading out for a game drive, this camp delivers an unforgettable and intimate safari experience.

November to March (Green Season & Birdwatching Paradise) – The landscape becomes lush, and migratory birds arrive, making it ideal for bird enthusiasts. Wildlife is still abundant, though spotting animals may take longer due to dense vegetation.
April to May (Low Season, Quieter & Budget-Friendly) – The long rains bring fewer visitors, creating a more peaceful experience. While some roads may be muddy, this is a great time for photographers to capture dramatic skies and vibrant landscapes.
