Namiri Plains Camp is a secluded luxury safari lodge situated in the eastern Serengeti, an area once closed to tourists for two decades to facilitate cheetah conservation. This exclusivity has resulted in a region teeming with big cats, offering guests unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities. The camp’s remote location ensures a tranquil experience, far from the more frequented areas of the Serengeti.
The camp features ten spacious tented suites, including one family tent and two exclusive use retreats. Each suite is thoughtfully designed with natural materials like calcrete, wood, and canvas, blending seamlessly with the environment. Guests can enjoy en-suite bathrooms, outdoor bathtubs, and private decks that offer panoramic views of the surrounding plains.
Namiri Plains is not only a haven for wildlife enthusiasts but also offers a range of activities to enhance the safari experience. These include expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, and opportunities to engage with ongoing cheetah research projects. The camp’s commitment to conservation and community engagement ensures a meaningful and responsible travel experience.
Best Time to Visit
The optimal time to visit Namiri Plains Camp is during the dry season from June to October, when wildlife congregates around water sources, making for excellent game viewing. However, the green season, from November to May, offers lush landscapes and the chance to witness the Great Migration as herds pass through the area.
